SPSS is a statistical analysis software program. SPSS is used to generate tabulated reports, charts, and plots of distributions and trends, descriptive statistics, and complex statistical analysis. Purdue negotiates the availability of several software packages for student installation on personally owned machines through University sponsorship or at a reduced cost. Eligibility for the software below depends on requirements outlined within the product's software licensing agreement between vendor and Purdue University. Active student registration with the University is required.

Software Licensing Services (SLS) provides software licensing, distribution and management services for departments at the University of Florida. SLS also maintains an online listing of software licenses managed centrally at the University of Florida.

The following is a list of software the College has available for student-owned devices. The listings below note if the software is available for PCs and/or Macs. The software is listed alphabetically, not by popularity. Please review the entire list to see if the application you desire is included.

This software is licensed through your Providence College Microsoft 365 account. The license will exist so long as your account exists. As long as you are an active student, you will have access to the software.

All students can download the latest version of Microsoft Windows for free. The software can be downloaded from the OnTheHub academic software discount site. Be sure to register for the site with your Providence College email address.

To install Windows on a Mac, you must also install Parallels Desktop, available from the same link. For most applications that require Windows, we recommend students with Macs use Azure Virtual Desktop.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wavefunction Spartan Student is being offered to Providence College students for home use. The licenses are being distributed within the Chemistry Department. Check with your instructor if you require a license.

If you use a college-issued Mac, there is an app called PC Self Service. This app allows you to install many of the college-licensed software applications as well as utilities to perform various OS repairs and tasks.

MATLAB is available for teaching and learning uses. It can be used on campus only. If MATLAB is required for purposes other than teaching and learning, such as research, or to be used off campus, please contact the Helpdesk to assist in the purchase of an individual license.

Note: Microsoft discontinued home use licenses for Windows 10. It is only available for college-owned computers. If you are looking for a copy of Windows 10 for your personally owned computer, you must purchase a copy directly from Microsoft.

According to Parallels' Licensing page, Desktop for Mac version 3.0 contains Direct3D code that was originally developed by the Wine open-source project.[15] Wine software is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, which required Parallels to release the source code. Parallels released the modified source code on July 2, 2007, about 2 weeks after the promised release date.[16] A Parallels spokesman explained the reasons for the delay in a message on the official company blog.[17]

It is sometimes advantageous for the University of Cincinnati to purchase a site or bulk license for certain commercial software and make licenses available to the UC community at no additional charge or at a reduced rate.

We have the right, at Our expense, to audit these records to verify Your compliance with this EULA and the scope of license granted to You under the Specific Terms. This audit may be conducted at any time during the terms of Your Subscription Licenses and for two years thereafter and/or the terms of Your Perpetual Licenses and for two years following any termination, but shall not be conducted more than once annually unless an audit reveals unlicensed use. In such case, We may conduct verification as frequently as quarterly for the subsequent annual period.

If the audit and verification shows that You, are deploying, installing, or using the Software, or allowing any of the foregoing to occur on or through Assets: (a) beyond the quantity that was licensed; or (b) in any way not permitted under this EULA, so that additional fees apply, You must pay the additional license fees, any applicable maintenance and support fees, interest on past due amounts at 1.0% per month or the highest interest rate allowed by law, whichever is less, and all expenses of recovery, within thirty (30) days after the invoice date.
